Unlimited Uses for Laminated Glass

Most people might think that all laminated glass is created equal but you would be wrong. Depending on how the glass is being utilized in a project there are going to be endless options to consider. From an artist’s standpoint, you might be looking to protect artwork between the glasses, whether it is fabric, paper, colored films, photographic prints, metal meshes or anything else artists can envision. Since there is unlimited uses for laminated glass, JIT is always there to provide suggestions and guidance to provide the best outcomes for a project. Safety of fabricated glass is always a concern when exposed to the public and we make sure that all products conform to established safety standards.

Bonding Materials

  • EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate)
  • PVB (polyvinyl butyral)
  • Liquid Resins
  • All three types of material exhibit transparency levels, UV, and acoustical blocking qualities.

The bonding materials that are using in the laminating process are also not created equal. We utilize a variety of bonding materials such as EVA, PVB and liquid resins for bonding glass together. Depending on the application, we will suggest the best one to use for the application. For instance, if a glass panel was to have its edges exposed to the outside elements, EVA would be the go-to material. It does not absorb moisture like PVB and thus would prevent edge delamination. All three types of material exhibit transparency levels, UV and acoustical blocking qualities. JIT can provide technical and performance data for these materials upon request if need be.

Types of Glass that can be Laminated

  • Art glass
  • Fused glass
  • Mirrored glass
  • Textured glass
  • Tempered glass
  • Plus bonding dissimilar materials such as glass to metal, stone, wood or plastics

How about bonding dissimilar materials such as glass to metal, stone, wood or plastics?  For the most part, we would say “No Problem”. We are always pushing unconventional ways to bring materials together because it’s in our DNA. We are problem-solvers for a variety of industries ranging from architectural applications, special lighting lenses, pharmaceutical clean room porthole windows, CNC machine safety windows, glass flooring/stair treads, or art sculptures that require safety laminated glass. Types of glass that can be laminated are also endless. Whatever glass you might require, whether its art glass, fused glass, mirrored, textured or tempered, we don’t care. Challenge us with your request and we’ll come up with a solution for you. With our waterjet cutting, metal finishing and glass fabrication skills, we can be your one-stop solution that includes custom laminated glass products.
