World’s Largest Piston at NASCAR™  Race Track

JIT Companies recently had the opportunity to be part of an amazing project “Eternal Fan™ Racing Piston” that now stands near the front gate of the NASCAR™ race track in Richmond, VA. The 21-foot tall structure was the culmination of several firms that together, with Ken Bettger of Timeless Columbaria™, produced this special one-of-a-kind memorial for die-hard NASCAR™ race fans to enjoy; preserving lasting memories for future generations.  JIT provided the stainless steel metal finishing on 125 of the individual plates that makeup the perimeter of the piston. To read and learn more about this project, check out this ESPN article. Thanks Ken, for the opportunity to assist you with this interesting project and we look forward to working with you again in the future!

Man Overboard! (and Needs Help Polishing a Stainless Steel Pipe)

polish the surface of a mill finish, stainless steel SCH40 pipeWell, not really, but when our newest friend, Rick Lang came to us for help, we threw him a life preserver. His beautiful landscaping project included a nautical theme stainless steel chain railing to help guide friends to his boat landing below. Thinking it would be an easy task to polish the railing posts himself, it didn’t take Rick long to decide to start looking for assistance. Trying to polish the surface of a mill finish, stainless steel SCH40 pipe requires the proper equipment and Rick’s hand held jitterbug sander wasn’t cutting it; at least he didn’t want to spend the entire summer on it.  He loaded up his project and brought it to JIT and within a day we had his project back on track. We even gave the dull industrial looking end caps a quick buff adding to the finished look of the pipes and Rick was able to complete his project for the weekend. Nice job Rick, and welcome to the JIT family!
